In the first group of works I try to interpret a dialogue between figurative and abstract. The groups of trees alternate in different phases of the day and in the varied seasons. The compositions live of a vibrant three-dimensionality, favoring the effect of chiaroscuro and the play of light.
In some works, white becomes the only color, made iridescent by the dynamism of the light that passes through it, creating an almost ethereal atmosphere, where the reference to nature invites the viewer to lose themselves in a world of reflections and dancing shadows.
What I would like to convey is a sense of calm and reflection, encouraging the observer to immerse themselves in a visual journey through nature.
LA LUNA TRA I BAGOLARI 100X80
THE GOLDEN BRANCH This work is distinguished by the technique used. The canvas, prepared with a combination of stucco and vinyl glue, offers a unique base that enhances the applied colors. After a layer of different shades, I used the "grattage" technique to bring out the light, creating a fascinating play between shadow and brightness. This methodology not only enriches the work from a visual point of view, but also invites the viewer to explore the depth and nuances of the colors, transmitting a sense of dynamism and liveliness.
In the epic tale of the Aeneid, the Golden Bough takes on a profound and symbolic meaning. Aeneas, the Trojan hero, embarks on an extraordinary journey to the afterlife in search of this sacred object. The branch, which grows in the forest of Nemi, represents not only a passage to the city of Dite, but also the recognition of divinity and divine protection. Through this quest, Aeneas demonstrates his determination and destiny, facing trials and obstacles along the way. The Golden Bough thus becomes a symbol of hope and rebirth, an essential element for the fulfillment of his mission and for the future of the Trojan people. Aeneas' journey is not only physical, but also spiritual, marking the transition from an era of pain to one of new life and glory.
