“Filoteso” depicts a forest suspended between silence and tension. The fabric shapes the landscape like a living skin: folds, reliefs, and white glazes transform the colors into a nuanced, almost misty memory. A delicate dark green thread stretched between two trees becomes the symbol of an invisible bond: fragile yet resilient, like the relationship between nature, time, and emotion.
This mixed media artwork is created from salvaged cotton sheets, shaped with a textured blend of glue, plaster, and stucco, then painted with several layers of oil color and finally glazed with zinc white. The fabric is molded onto a wooden panel, following the forms of the trees and the natural folds of the material.
The deep green thread gently crosses the composition, inviting the viewer to embark on a journey of inner exploration. Minimal and romantic, “Filoteso” brings a sense of stillness, depth, and contemplation into the home, becoming a poetic reminder of one’s own inner path.
